Just a couple of pancakes

Ava had the stomach flu and had just finished throwing up, when all of the sudden she was hungry. I said "I will give you a couple of crackers and see how you do. She said "how about a couple of crackers and a couple of pancakes."

Waste of money

While helping at Ethan's class Halloween party i was talking with some of the other moms. Ethan gets my attention and asks " how much did you waste on my costume?"

Yellow hair

Ava: "Mommy I have yellow hair. Girls have yellow hair." after a few seconds "What the heck, Mommy you have brown hair. You should get yellow hair."

Pack rat

While cleaning the upstairs we found a ton of toys in Ava's closet. Ethan said Ava, you are like a rat, but instead of storing food you store toys.

Halloween party

I got to help at both kids Halloween party. It was so fun to see them at school.

I am short

I found out ethan was being teases by a big 2nd grader for being short. His response to the kid was " I know." the kid kept saying it trying to get at Ethan and he kept just replying " I know". I asked if he was upset, he just shrugged and said " I am short."

Just honk

In September we went to in and out to get milkshakes. We were in a hurry because we had to pick Tommy up. The line was taking forever. All the sudden Ava pipes up and says "Just honk!"

Cute kindergarteners

Ethan the big first grader was talking about seeing the kindergarten kids at an assembly. He said " oh kindergartners, they're so cute."

I asked him what he did at recess. " Me and Evie looked for suspicious things.". Me : "like what?" Ethan: "Things like litter or a pencil with no erasers."

First day of first grade

Me " how was your first day?" Ethan " so much better than kindergarten."

From when Ethan was 5

1) one day Ava had preschool at the same time that Ethan had kindergarten. Ethan asked me what I was going to do. I said just run some errands. He said " mommy, you should just relax.

2) Ethan was scared to play in Evie 's backyard because of their new chicks. I said " chicks aren't scary." he said "chicks have beaks".
