Rare steak

Tommy made steak for dinner and was already feeding it to the kids when I walked in and said it was too rare. Tommy went to turn on the BBQ to cook it a little longer. Ethan asked for more steak and I said "Daddy is going to cook it longer.". Ethan said "no, it is perfect. Hurry, tell daddy not to cook it longer."

Just bring a bowl

Ava had the stomach flu on a preschool day. She really wanted to go because she is loving preschool and it was her show and tell day. I told her she could not go because she was throwing up and she said "I'll just bring a bowl and throw up in it.."

Valentine cards

I am sitting here listening to Ethan as he does his valentines for school. He read all of then and then carefully considered who they should be for. They are angry bird valentines. One says " Feeling blue? Happy valentines day! " Ethan said, "Hmmm, who is sad a lot" for that one. Another one said "don't mean to blow up our friendship.". Ethan said "That one is cool, I am giving it to Colin because he is cool.". Another one said "no hard feelings mate." Ethan said " I am giving this to Cole because he likes pirates."

Worst day ever!

A few weeks ago Ethan gets in the car after school and says "that was the worst day of school EVER!

Me: "Why"
Ethan "Because of P.E. They made us do so many exercises and it was hard!"
Me: "What kind of exercises?"
Ethan: "push-ups, sit ups, holding our arms out for a minute and running. I got so tired!"

Moving

For some reason today Ethan decided to tell a bunch of kids at school that we might be moving. I asked "why?" He said' " In case one day I am not there because i am at a different school. I don't want them to wonder where I am.". He even told his teacher and she said "if he moves she knows that she and the whole class would be really sad." A girl in his class wrote her address on a piece of paper in case he moves.

He is explaining to everyone that we have to move because we don't have enough money for our house. After school he asked me how much money we need to stay? I said a lot and he wanted to know exactly how much because his friend Jessica had an idea. She and a bunch of other kids in his class were going to bring a dollar or a quarter to school and we could put it together and have enough money. This almost brought me to tears, those sweet kids! I explained that we could not take other people's money. I think him talking about this at school is his way of coping with the situation.
